Senior Chief Petty Officer, Rickey Nelson Hannon known as Nelson to his family and Rick to friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2021. Born February 23,1961 in Jackson, Alabama to the belated parents Alfred O’Neal Hannon Sr. and Annie Bell Johnson. He spent his childhood years in Jackson, Al., where he graduated from Jackson High school. He attended college at Rex Electronic in Montgomery, Al.
After graduating from Rex Electronic, Nelson joined the United States and as E-3 Airman. Working up thru the ranks and finally retiring after 28 years as Senior Chief Petty Officer E-8, specialized as an Aviation Electrician AEMS
Nelson was a loving father and brother, always willing help anyone. He was a father of four children, one son, three daughters and eight grandchildren. Loved cooking for other people, especially Barbecue and teaching others how to use the grill the proper way. He will be remembered as a joker and a very kindhearted person
Nelson leaves to cherish loving memories one son Fredrick Hannon of Salem, Oregon, three daughters Tomeka Scott of Jackson, Al, LaQuita Foxx-White and husband Eugene White III, Kapri Hannon and stepdaughter Nika Jones (Korey) of Virginia Beach, Va., grandchildren, Joziah Hannon, Kamaron Scott, Nehemiah Pritchett and Princeton White, Siblings, Johnnie Etan, Attie Smith (James), of Miami, Fl., Betty Bryant (Abraham) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Willie Malone (Jackie) of Miami, Fl., Jowanna Darrington of Birmingham, Al., Vickie Robinson (Earl), Alfred Hannon Jr. (Teresa) of Salem, Or. Cynthia Wilson of Huntsville, Al. Host of nieces and nephews. Devoted cousin LT Command Robert Earl Davis and nephew Bush Martin. Special friend Stevie Bryant, Tammy and Pyle.
The belated sibling brothers Tommy Lee Davis Sr., Albert T Malone, sister Creola Lester, and sister Darlene Denise Hannon.
Nelson will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
