Robert “Bob” Terry Griswold, 69, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in Norfolk, Virginia. Bob was born on June 30, 1952 in Oceanside California to Donald and Eugenia Griswold.

Bob enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970. He married Sara Calandrino in 1973 in San Pedro, California. They had four children together, Sam, Jennie, Robert and Ryanne. The Navy took their family to numerous places including Okinawa, Japan and La Maddalena, Italy. After twenty years of service, Bob retired in 1990 in his final duty station Norfolk, Virginia.
While he never returned to his home state of California, he tried his hardest to never miss a televised game of his favorite Major League Baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, wife Sara, brothers Donald “Doc” and Earl Wayne “Sparky”. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sam (Desiree), Jennie, Robert (Angela) and Ryanne; grandchildren, Sara (Ryan), Ernesto, Cameron, Jordan, Josiah, Jaylynn, and Madelyn; great grandchildren, Isabelle and Nolan; brother Brian (Toni) and sister Donna (Bobby).

A Celebration of Life will by held at 6pm on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach with reception to follow.
