Rosa Marie Lewis, affectionately known a Rose, was born on March 13, 1960 in New York New York and peacefully departed this life after a brief illness on May 19, 2021. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late, Mr. James E. Lewis, and mother, Mrs. Carrie Lewis, and a sister, Alice Lewis-Cayne.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Hempstead, New York, and received an Associate Degree in Business at New York University. After moving to Virginia in 1996 she worked for Avis Car Rental as a supervisor of services for almost thirty years. Rose was a faithful servant of the Lord and was saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit. She was also an usher, greeter, and organizer for the church. More than that, Rose loved her family, and was always a regular at the Briggs Family Reunions. She was someone who offered her services to help anyone in need, especially children. She had a bright smile that lit up the room. She was a beautiful person and always tried to stay positive. She loved her grandchildren and they were the world to her. Everyone she met admired her for her wisdom and strength.
She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Isaiah Lewis, and Riqquiyah Lewis, and her grandchildren, Cleoptra A. Saddler, Amadeus A. Bonilla, Atreyu Bonilla and Monét C. Saddler, brothers, Marshall Lewis and Timothy Lewis, sister, Edna Lewis-Robinson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, Pastors, church members, extended family, and many friends.
She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, please send a financial donation to Riqquiyah Bonilla Lewis for a scholarship fund for Roses’ grandchildren.

Ms. Rosa was one of the strongest women I know. She helped me so much when I worked with her. She was my work mother, my mother called her my Mentor. She definitely influenced my life and the woman I am today. My condolences to the Lewis family. She loved her kids and definitely her grandkids. She would always tell me all these stories of what she been through and some of the funny things that he grand babies would do. She definitely is one of a kind and she will truly be missed. Rest In Peace Rosa. He has another good one watching over.
