Rose Maness Owens

October 27, 1935 - May 16, 2021

Rose Maness Owens, 85, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away to heaven on May 16, 2021.

Rose was born to Laymon James Maness and Nell Young Boger of Kannapolis, N. C. on October 27, 1935.

Left to cherish her memory, daughter Terry Stephens, sons Bobby Owens Jr, Timothy Owens, Jack Owens (Bonnie) and Ronald Owens (Debbie); six grandchildren and many great- grandchildren; sister Pat Brown and sister-in-law Suzie Maness and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Laymon and Nell and her brother (Jimmy) Laymon Jr.

Rose was born and raised in Kannapolis and always called it home. After graduation Rose married Bobby and that was the beginning of being a military wife for 20 yrs. In those years she became a successful seamstress while raising her five children. She rescued dogs, cats, loved travel, family gatherings, sewing and all of nature’s beauty.

Rose retired from Hoffman Beverage Budweiser as their computer operator 2003. During her time employed she had the opportunity to play at Kingsmill Golf Tournament in Williamsburg with the pros during practice rounds. This was one of Rose’s greatest passions, golf which she played for 30 yrs. She was so proud of her documented two holes in one, that actually became her license plate. Forever in our hearts, we will miss you.

Services will be private.
