August 8, 1942 - July 16, 2015

Rosemarie E. Heiser, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away Thursday, 16 July 2015.  Rose was an over 35-year resident of the Peninsula.  Originally from Dahn, Germany, Rose married her beloved soldier, Jim Heiser and emigrated to the United States.

Rose is survived by her son, James R. Heiser, Jr., his wife Heather and two grandsons, Jakob and Nikolaus, and her sisters Marie Clermont and Rosita Gnad, her brother-in-law Jakob Gnad and her nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, 26 July at 4:00 PM at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, 224 Richneck Road, Newport News, VA 23608.

Rose’s long battle is over and she is finally at peace.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 1400 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1710, New York, NY 10122 or online at in Rose’s name.

Arrangements are under the care of Altmeyer Funeral Home – Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA 23608 and Rose will be interned at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
