ROSIE LEE WASHINGTON

 VIRGINIA BEACH- Rosie Lee Washington, 89, died March 16, 2016. She was born in Alabama to the late Zack Swoope and Mary Elizabeth Baker Swoope. Rosie was the widow of Jordan Washington, Jr. and was a member of Southside Tabernacle Church in Chicago where she served on the hospital visitation committee.

She is survived by her son, Marshall M. Washington and wife Sylvia; granddaughter, Marie D. Washington; sister, Catherine Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, VA. Beach on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 10am to 11am with a Celebration of Life service to start at 11am with Pastor Rick Hocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery.
