Rushie Sites Moore

May 10, 1934 - March 5, 2019

On Tuesday, March 5 th , 2019, Rushie S. Moore went to be home with her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ. Born May 10, 1934, and raised in Blacksburg Virginia, she met
Tom Moore while he attended Virginia Tech and they married in September 1958.
She was dedicated to God and loved her family immensely. She was an
administrative assistant for Fox Hill Road Baptist Church and later joined Grafton
Baptist Church. She served as a dedicated member and volunteer for 45 years.
She enjoyed family vacations, cooking, hosting parties, and taught cake
decorating classes. She was an award winning AVON representative in York
County for over 25 years and was a friend to all. She was a dedicated and
wonderful caregiver for her husband when he was diagnosed with early onset
Alzheimer’s. In recent days she enjoyed collecting, crocheting, Bingo, outings, and
the special event parties held at her assisted living facility, The Crossing on the
Peninsula.
She was preceded in death by her husband C. Thomas Moore, Jr., her parents
Carlisle and Myrtle Sites, her brothers, Leslie Edward Sites, and Kyle Creed Sites.
She is survived by her brother Hubert Ezekiel Sites, son C. T. Moore, III (Denise),
daughter Brenda M. Begley (Brian), granddaughters Elysse Morris (Leonard),
Collyn Moore, and Brandi O’Berry (J.J.), and five great-grandchildren (Haley,
Skylar, Dakota, Charlotte O’Berry, and Karina Morris), and many nieces and
nephews.
We thank the wonderful staff at The Crossings on the Peninsula for their care and
efforts while she resided there the last two years and her friends there. A special
thank you goes to her care giving companion, Laura Hargrave.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 on Monday March 11, 2019 at
Altmeyer Funeral Home Denbigh, and the memorial service will follow at 1:30.
There will be a private graveside service at Parklawn Cemetery.
