Sheldon Lee McFarland, 45, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 7, 2019 with his loving wife and family at his side. After an intense 37-day, courageous battle with cancer, he passed away in Virginia Beach, VA. Sheldon was at peace knowing he is a child of God. Sheldon was born January 26, 1974 to Donald and Shelba McFarland in Norfolk, VA.

Sheldon was a graduate of Norfolk Christian Schools where in Kindergarten he met the love of his life, Carrie McFarland, whom he wed in 2016. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, faithful friend, and generous soul. Sheldon deeply loved his children; daughter, Emilia Mae McFarland; step-son, Blake Gossett; baby boy due March 2020. He was a true family-man who cherished every fun-filled moment spent together.

Sheldon co-owned LAVA Integration, a home-automation business. He was an avid body-boarder, loved the surf and the beach, snorkeling, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sheldon is predeceased by his father, Donald R. McFarland. Left to cherish his memory are, wife, Carrie L. McFarland; children, Emilia McFarland, Blake Gossett, and sweet baby boy. He is also remembered by his mother, Shelba H. McFarland; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Cindy Jo McFarland, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11am at Virginia Beach Community Chapel located at 1261 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach.

In lieu of flowers it has been asked that any memorial contributions be made, HERE, to Sheldon’s family in an effort to help them in this difficult time.
