April 11, 1935 - December 19, 2017

Shirley A. Lanzarotta, of Virginia Beach, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the age of 82 years. She was a native of Durham, NC. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Lee and Della “Poe” Christian; her husband, Anthony J. Lanzarotta; son Charles Edward Lanzarotta; grandson David Beningo; and a grandson Christopher Lanzarotta.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Lanzarotta and his wife, Cheryl, of Chesapeake; daughter, Kathryn Beningo and her husband, David, of Va. Beach; son, Anthony Lanzarotta, II. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Richard Allen Lanzarotta, II, and his wife, Danielle, of Va. Beach, Jennifer Marie Beningo, and her husband, Frank, of Va. Beach, Anthony Lanzarotta, III, and his wife, Sarah, of Va. Beach, Megan Marie Lanzarotta of Chesapeake and Kristina Leigh Lanzarotta, and her husband, Wayne, of Va. Beach; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Shirley will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017at Altmeyer Funeral Home (5792 Greenwich Rd. Virginia Beach) from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (1396 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach) at 12:30 PM. Final rest will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The Altmeyer Funeral Home-Southside Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
