Steven Martin Coburn

August 31, 1966 - May 24, 2021

Steven Martin Coburn, age 54, died suddenly on May 24th 2021 of a heart attack. He was born to Thomas R and Norma E (Vis) Coburn on August 31, 1966 in Waupun WI. Then brought into Christian faith through holy baptism. “Stevie” as known by his family and friends in younger years, grew up in the Village of Fairwater, WI. He was a member of the Markesan Chapter boy scouts with his brother Timmy and with his Dad a scout leader. In high school Stevie participated in the sport of wrestling, was in swing choir, and played cornet with the marching band. He graduated in 1985 from Markesan High School in Markesan, WI.

After school Steve served a 6-year tour enlisted in the Navy while stationed in Norfolk, VA. Norfolk became home to Steve after the Navy. There he loved the ocean, fishing, and playing with his remote controlled boats. One of his favorite pastimes and passions was spent at the drag race track racing his Chevy Vega and working in the shop fine tuning the machine along with his Virginia family. Steve was employed by his friends Walter and Mary Clark using his mechanical skills on pleasure craft boat engines. Then had fun taking the boats out for a test spin in the waters.
Steve was a very private person and was admired by those who knew him for his gentle spirit, patience, kind heart, and love for nature.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Thomas Coburn, great-grandparents Bernie and Wilma (Baggett) Vis, and Jack and Mary (Blodgett) Coburn, and brother-in-law Thomas Pollesch. He is survived by his mother Norma Coburn, brother Tim (Jen) Coburn, and sisters Mary (Dan) Pollesch-Davison, Cyndi (Paul) Gunderson, and Lori Jensen (Jeremy Menke). He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

Steve is also sorely missed by his Virginia family Walter and Mary Clark, Ryan, Kyle, and Jen.

The Coburn family would like to give special thanks to Steve’s close friend Walter and to the EMTs who all worked hard to try to revive him.
