Susan “Susie” LaBarbera passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Susie was born on December 09, 1935 to Vincent and Maria Rizzo in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Saint Vincent school of Nursing in New York.

She married the love of her life, Ralph LaBarbera Sr. and started a family of her own in Brooklyn, New York. Her marriage of 46 years brought three sons Ralph Jr., Vincent, and Paul LaBaarbera. From her children, she was blessed with five grandchildren Toniann, Dominique, Susan LaBarbera(Vincent), Richard, and Justine Labarbera (Ralph). From her five grandchildren she experienced the joy of eleven great grandchildren Alexis, Giovanna, Marcello (Toniann), Nicole, Lorenzo, Martin, Luca (Dominique), Jasmine, Alexander, Vincent, and Adrianna (Susan) who were everything to her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and passing on family traditions.

In addition to being predeceased by her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Florence, brothers Anthony, Johnny, and Carmine, as well as her husband of 46 years Ralph Sr., sons Vincent and Paul, and great granddaughter Giovanna.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Home- Southside Chapel at 6:30 PM. A Catholic Mass is to follow at Church of the Holy Family, Friday, May 7, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
