Before his ordination at the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest, Ronald was a design engineer for Harry Diamond Labs and the Instrument Engineering Company.  He was a flight line officer for the USAF. Ronald was a member of the Order of St. Luke and the American Society for Training and Development.  He visited the sick and conducted healing services. He enjoyed reading, collecting, shopping, and traveling.  He loved to spend time with his wife. He was predeceased by his brother, David.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy B. Spangenberg and his daughter, Laurel J. Scheible (Mrs. Jack Jr.) of Springfield, VA.    He also leaves his brothers, James Spangenberg of MD and Roger Spangenberg of Farmville, VA; his grandchildren Elisabeth (Mrs. Jeff Black), Robert, Peter, Christina, and Jessica Scheible; and a host of other family and friends.
