Thomas Benjamin Hendley Jr. “Turkey”

On Friday January 25, 2019 Tom “Turkey” passed away surrounded by his family. Tom could always be found on the golf course, by the bay, or at a party!

Tom was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 12, 1948. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly after his seventeenth birthday. He served our country with distinction completing two tours during the Vietnam War. Tom settled in Hampton Roads after his last duty station. Turkey, as he was affectionately named, was a bouncer and manager at many restaurants, nightclubs, and after-hours bars throughout the area over the next several decades. He also served as a mortgage broker and as Regional Vice President of a Mortgage and Investment Company.

Tom is predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Beverly and Joseph Runge; his father, Thomas B. Hendley; his sisters, Pam Baynai and Linda Delphi; his brothers, Charlie Hendley and Donnie Hendley; as well as his grandparents. Left to cherish his memory; his son, Thomas B. Hendley III (Samantha Rodenheiser); his daughter Caitlin H. Granger (Eddie Granger); granddaughter, Lilly Joy Granger; mother of his children Vickie Pulley (Richard Pulley); brother, Randy Runge (Susan Runge); sister, Kathy Manners; girlfriend, Renee Owens; as well as many other family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of his Life held by Eagles Nest Rockin Country Bar on Saturday February 2, 2019. Online condolences maybe left for the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.
