Retired Command Master Chief Thomas Charles Fitzsimmons, Sr., 75, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2020. Thomas was born in Troy, New York on July 26, 1944 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Fitzsimmons.
Tom, after serving 30 years in the navy, retired as the Command Master Chief of the USS Nashville (LPD-13). His next adventure was with the Norfolk Sherriff‘s Department. Tom spent many years volunteering with Plaza Little League from coaching to being the Vice President of the league. Tom was a member of a number of service organizations including the VFW, Moose Lodge 1198, Disable American Veterans, and J E Zaloga America Legion Post 1520.
Other than his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph C. Fitzsimmons, Jr.
Left to cherish Thomas’s memory is his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Fitzsimmons; children, Thomas Fitzsimmons, Jr. & Colleen Rafter; grandchildren, Lauren Deutscher & Rachel Rafter; many more extended family members and friends.
