Visitation

Thomas Patrick Rogers was born on March 8, 1959 to his proud parents, the late Sylvia B. Rogers and John D. Rogers.  He was called home on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the age of 60 years old.
A resident of Edgewater, NJ, Thomas spent the last 30 years, learning about sound waves and its effects on music. During this time he attended school at Old Dominion University to study Electrical/Sound Engineering. Tom was gifted with his knowledge of sound engineering and was able to build his RTOM Company from nothing to a successful music instrument business.
Thomas also has a number of patents on products he created.
Prior to his years in New Jersey, Thomas, like his father, spent time in the US Navy and later worked for the Bose Corporation. Thomas also lived in Japan for a number of years after he was discharged from the Navy in 1979.
Thomas also leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Deborah Brand; Diane Kinzie; 2 brothers-in-law; his best friend, Dr. Frank Starks; his loving caregiver/nurse, Juliana Caesar of 6 ½ years, Regina Robinson of 3 years and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 9:00 am-10:00 am at Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue in Fort Lee, New Jersey 07024. Interment will be held at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York immediately following visitation.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ALS Worldwide by CLICKING HERE.

Tom, was a true, genuine Friend and a very passionate Man that thought ahead of its time. He inspired and helped people with his strong and caring personality, and ability to overcome many different challenges in his life. When he was faced with ALS he never gave up and continued his journey with a powerful desire to live and enjoy life.
I will miss our late night conversations about life Dear and the sound of your drum beats.
Thank you Tom for all you did for us.

Thomas last worlds;Hello everyone, if Juliana is reading this, I am looking down on you. I want to thank all of you that keep in touch with me during the years. I know I have not kept in touch with you toward the end. I hope you all understand it was getting a little hard for me to write and keep up with all the emails I received. I have read all of them. But I try to keep in touch. I had a wonderful six years living with this disease call Lou Gehrig’s Disease (AKA) ALS. My life had change so much one minute I was fine the next I was down. I want to thank Juliana especially for the last six and a half years for making my life great. Juliana has sacrificed so much for me even giving up her life to care for me, she has shown me I can still live life no matter what life brings. Juliana did not treat me like I was disable sometimes I thought she was thinking I was just going to get up and move. Juliana made me laugh and she always had me on the go it was never a dull moment when she was around. I will miss the walk, movies, plays and the concerts we went to every summer. I am going to miss her craziness, but one day I know I will see her again. I will miss my baby boy Bam-Bam he sure made me laugh went we went for walks and just him sitting in my lap brought me joy. I know he will be well taken care off after I am gone. Keith thank for sacrificing Julie to me. Mark thank for visiting and understanding what was going on
Tom you will be miss dearly. I will miss all the summer fun that we had together. I will always remember the good times and the bad one that we share together. Know that you are at peace and may God watch over you.

Tom had 3 things on his mind all the time….1) His company; 2) His clothes; and 3) Anything Bose……in fact, most of my family still refer to him as “Bose” and not Tom.. Tom was a very private man; he didn’t like a lot of attention to himself. In fact, he wouldn’t want us to make a big fuss out of his passing… and it is with this thought in mind, is why I will be short with what I want to say about my friend Tom.
We met 40 yrs ago as Navy roommates in Japan and have been close friends ever since. Tom was an unassuming person…meaning he prefer to do things behind the scene. Ever since I met him, he was always talking about starting his own company. He would call me at 3 O’Clock in the mornings just to tell me about an idea he had for starting a company, and let me say, that over the 40 yrs. he has had MANY ideas. I am glad that he was able to see his dream come true. I only wish he had more time to enjoy it.

I was asked, what did I want people to know about Tom? I want people to know that for 40 yrs, Tom always talked about leaving an impact on this world. By the creation of his company, I’d say he succeeded. He accomplished this through years of hard work, trial and error, and finally, success.

What I want people to know is that Tom literally set out to start his dream 40 yrs ago and he stuck to this dream throughout the many years of ups and downs he had experienced. Through it all, Tom was determined to leave his footprint in this world and he did. I am very glad to see he achieved all that he wanted to do on this earth.

Rest your brain now my friend. You have earned your place with the angels. You will always be a part of me.

Your friend and brother in this world,

Frank

Tom was a great friend to the end. Even after he had ALS fake his body away from him he helped people through his emails. He gave people with ALS a positive outlook on life. Tom May you Rest in Pease!

Tom was one of the most curious of people. We had many hours of phone conversations. He was a man that helped others even when the ALS had taken away his body. He will not be forgotten as a friend a great person. May you Rest In Peace Tom.

Thomas had the most beautiful eyes and eyelashes. He could say more with his eyes than anyone could with words. In fact, they we’re his words towards the end of his life. They told how much he cared and loved all of us who were close to him. I miss you Thomas.
