Thomas Paul "Tommy" Carey, II

June 10, 1960 - January 22, 2019

Thomas Paul Carey, II aka Tommy, passed away quietly in his home in Norfolk, VA on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Tommy is a Virginia Beach Native and worked as ac CNC Machinist throughout his long career. He met the love of his life, Pat, and on their journey together, they went camping, fishing, endless trips to the Outer Banks, and entertaining family and friends in their own mountain retreat, their backyard. He is so loved and missed.
Tommy is predeceased by his mother, Gloria Phillips and his father Thomas Paul Carey. He is survived by his dad, Johnny Phillips and his wife Patricia; sons, Adam, Andrew, Austin and families; sister, Sherri and niece Holly and family, Ginger and brother-in-law Kenny, nieces Taylor and Erica, sisters, Dawn, Nora and Shea and their families as well as his fur babies Chopper and Moe.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr. in Virginia Beach. On the evening of Saturday, February 2nd there will be a celebration of Tommy’s life, details to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in Tommy’s name. Please leave condolences for the family below.
