Timothy Myron "Tim" Harris

June 14, 1968 - May 19, 2020

Timothy Myron Harris (Tim), age 51, passed away peacefully at his home in Newport News, Virginia on May 19, 2020. Timothy was the fifth child born to Arthur Franklin Harris, Sr. and the late Cora Elizabeth Jackson Harris of Gloucester, Virginia.  He was raised in Gloucester County and was a graduate of Gloucester High School. He later attended Rappahannock Community College in Glenns, Virginia where he graduated with an associate degree in mechanical drawing.

At an early age, Tim accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Gloucester, Virginia.

Tim was employed full-time by the Crofton Diving Corporation in Portsmouth, Virginia.  He also taught part-time in the adult continuing education program at New Horizons Regional Educational Center in Hampton, Virginia. Tim was part of the security team at Water’s Edge Church in Yorktown, Virginia,as well as, a referee for intramural sports in the Middle Peninsula area.

Preceded in death was his mother Cora E. Harris and brother James E. Jackson.

Tim leaves to cherish his memory his father, Arthur F. Harris, Sr.; three brothers, Arthur F. Harris, Jr. (Cynthia), John A. Harris and Alfred L. Harris (Pamela); an uncle, Matt Jackson (Rose), all of Gloucester, Virginia; one nephew, Alfred Monte’ Harris (Tiffany); two great nieces, Trinity and Taelynn; a close friend, Terry Chisholm, all of Newport News, Virginia; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private funeral service will take place at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020, followed by interment at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gloucester.
