Tina Gushwa

April 29, 1968 - March 26, 2021

On Friday, March 26, 2021, Tina Marie Gushwa, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and
friend passed away at age 52.
Tina was preceded in death by her husband Tracy Dean Gushwa and father Jerry Wayne
Clanton. She is survived by son Michael Wayne Gushwa, mother Mary Kellam with husband
Carrol Kellam, Siblings Beth Parks, Dan Clanton ( Cecile ), David Clanton ( Natasha ) and
Michael Kellam, Leighann Hess & Jessica Kellam. Tina will be forever remembered by her nieces,
nephews and numerous other family members and friends.
Tina was born April 29, 1968 in Norfolk, Va. She married her soul mate Tracy Gushwa in June of
1987. They made a beautiful life together in Tracy’s hometown of Mishawka, IN. Tina and Tracy
spent time traveling cross county in Tracy’s 18-wheeler for work. Afterwards Tina began work at
Martin’s Supermarket for over 20 years where she built lifelong friendships.
Tina’s dream of becoming a mother came true with the arrival of their son, Michael. Raising
Michael was the joy and purpose in her life.
Tina was an animal lover. She loved her dogs, Chelsea, Carson & Octavia (as well as her fish and
2 ferrets for a time). They were a beloved part of the family. Tina was also a wonderful cook.
Eating at her house was an event filled with love which is why everything tasted so good.
Tina and Michael moved to Knotts Island, NC after Tracy’s passing. She spent much of her time
volunteering at Michael’s school, caring for other children and spending time with family.
Tina touched countless people with her kindness, devotion, sense of humor and compassion.
She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

A memorial service will be held on April 24, 2021 at 3:00pm at Mission Church 210 Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
