Family and friends on Wednesday May 20, 2020 Jesus called Tyrone L. Clayton’s name and told him to rise up, well done, thou good and faithful servant your race has been won.
Tyrone L. Clayton was the son of James Clayton and Clara Richardson. He was born on July 24, 1953. Tyrone attended public school in Lynchburg, Virginia. Tyrone was a member of First Baptist Church Denbigh. Tyrone worked at the Newport News Shipyard for 43 years as a Master Shipbuilder.
Tyrone L. Clayton is preceded in death by his father James Clayton, mother Clara Richardson, and two sisters Maxine and Elsie. Tyrone is survived by his wife of 37years Barbara Clayton, a daughter Wanda Costa, and her husband Tyrone Costa, a son James Roberson, and eight grandchildren Roderick Phillips, Isaiah Costa, Kylia Costa, Tyler Costa, Tyneise Roberson, Jayvion Lucus, Israel Roberson, and India Lucus, aunts, uncles and  cousins. AMEN.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 10AM to 4PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News. A funeral service will take place Friday, May 29, 1:30PM to 2:30PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh Chapel, followed by interment at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News.
