VELMA WALTON MEADS
VIRGINIA BEACH- Velma Walton Meads, 87, passed away on Friday March 22, 2019. Velma was the wife and widow of Pastor James A. “Pastor Jimmy” Meads, Jr., former pastor of Suburban Christian Church in Virginia Beach until he retired. She was born in Richmond, Virginia to the late Wallace Graham Walton and Josephine Gibson.

Velma is survived by one brother, Harrold Lee Walton and wife Jean, two children, Sharon Rose and husband Dean and David Alan Meads and wife Karen; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

The visitation will be Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 12:00pm at Suburban Christian Church, 5132 Bellamy Manor Drive, Virginia Beach with Pastor Todd Haynes officiating.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Velma’s name may be sent to the Suburban Christian Church Missions Fund.
