Vian Stafford Irving II transitioned to eternal life on Friday, January 1, 2016.
Vian was born to Myra Moore and Vian Stafford Irving Sr. on September 8, 1994 in Paterson, New Jersey. Vian was baptized at the Church of the Holy Communion in April of 1995, and was a member of Calvary Chapel Newport News.
Vian graduated in 2012 from Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia where he was a member of the football team, track & field team and played the tuba in the school orchestra. Vian attended Virginia State University as a Sports Management major. He later enlisted into the United States Navy and served as an Aviation Ordinanceman and was stationed in San Diego, California aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70).  His favorite pastimes were playing basketball and working out. Vian was a very friendly young man who used his comedic nature to make people smile.
Vian loved his family deeply. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sara Jones Moore, Uncle Anthony Moore, paternal great grandparents Vian and Cecilyn Miller, and Godfather Elrado Long. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Myra Moore of Newport News, Virginia and father, Vian Stafford Irving Sr. of Chesapeake, Virginia; four siblings, Nadira Artis of Paterson, New Jersey, Nia & Jordan Irving of Chesapeake, Virginia and Jalen Morgan of Newport News, Virginia. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Rev. Hannah J. Irving and a host of close relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 10am to 11am at Calvary Chapel Newport News. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 11am to 12 noon also at Calvary Chapel Newport News. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
