Vickie Holland Sykes

August 23, 1953 - February 18, 2021

Franklin – Vickie Holland Sykes, 67, went home to be with the Lord February 18, 2021.  Vickie was born in Norfolk to the late William E. and Lucy Casper Holland.  She enjoyed the healing powers of music; especially gospel (Bee Gees, Gaither Vocal Band, David Phelps), watching Pixar and Al Pacino movies, telling stories about her life, cooking delicious meals for her husband and family, and spending time with her family, especially her great granddaughter.  Vickie was predeceased by brothers, Bill and Jerry Holland, and nephew, David Holland.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 47 years, Gary Lee Sykes of Franklin; daughter, Angel Sykes Greiner (Aaron) of Suffolk; sister, Betsy H. Morgan of Suffolk; granddaughter, Betsy-Jo Sykes “Sunshine” Greiner (Jahkeem White) of Suffolk; great granddaughter, Ramona Jae “Sunshine” White; sister-in-laws, Toni-Jo Sykes and Betty Holland; aunt, Sue Casper;  close friend, who is like a sister, Cindy Stephenson; nephews, Andy Morgan, Bear Alexander, and Neil and Kevin Holland; niece, Raven-Tia Alexander-Sweeney; and fur baby, Mauze.

A casual celebration of life will be announced personally, and on Facebook.  Vickie’s death has left the family both financially and emotionally devastated.  Please honor Vickie’s memory and help the family focus on celebrating her life by making a donation in her name at www.tmcfunding.com.

What our families say...

Altmeyer was incredible in their reliability and conscientious effort to detail. I personally worked from beginning to end with Joseph Limback. What an absolute blessing that was. From the first meeting we had a very easy communication path because Joseph took complete control to oversee our families welfare. Our family couldn’t have asked for better care and comfort of our love one.
