Viola Irene Lantrip

February 9, 1926 - May 5, 2018

Norfolk – Viola Irene Lantrip, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior May 5, 2018. She was born in Portsmouth and lived in Norfolk for most of her life.
She was a kind and thoughtful person who loved her family and friends with much devotion. Irene’s life is captured in Proverbs 31:28 “Her children rise up and call her blessed.”
Preceding her in death were her parents Irving and Viola Ellis, her husband Robert Charles Lantrip, a son, Richard Ellis Lantrip and a granddaughter Tracey Clark.
She is survived by Bobbie Irene Frizzell and her husband Howard, Sue Anne Tysor and her husband David, Janice DeBerry and her husband Steven, Gary Lantrip and his wife Lisa, Michael Lantrip and his wife Janice, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister Clara Ellis Neuman.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8th at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, and will be conducted by the Rev. Mark J. Bender. A reception will be held after the service at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 150 Kempsville Rd., Norfolk.
