William Bruce Lee was born on July 27, 1953 in Moyock, North Carolina. He was the second of two sons born to Mary Forehand Lee and Marvin Lee. He is the younger brother of Marvin Edward Lee, who is also called Eddie.

In his preschool years, the Lee family moved to Chesapeake, Virginia. William Lee and his older brother, Eddie, were both raised at this family home in Chesapeake, and they lived there for most of their lives.

William Bruce Lee graduated from Great Bridge High School, and during his long working life as an adult, his favorite and longest job was at USA Discounters in Norfolk, Virginia.

Eight years after the death of his parents, William Lee started a new and loving family with his fiance and long time beloved life partner, Brian Nicholls. They lived together as a deeply loving and loyal home and family from February 20, 2011 until the date of his death on April 10, 2019.

In January 2015, William Lee and his beloved life partner, Brian Nicholls, moved from Bill’s childhood home to a new home of their own in Chesapeake, Virginia. They lived at this new home as a deeply loving and devoted home and family until the date of William Lee’s death.

William Bruce Lee is survived by his long time loving home and life partner, Brian Nicholls, their four year old German Shepherd Jacob, his older brother Marvin Edward Lee, and the many members of his life long family church, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, and his lifelong friend, Beth Thurman, who was a source of constant unwavering love and support during the last few difficult years of William Lee’s life.
William Bruce Lee died on April 10, 2019 from long term complications of a heart attack he suffered on December 20, 2016. He will be deeply missed, and his life of kindness, love, loyalty, and true decency will be remembered and cherished for generations to come!  In lieu of flowers, please click HERE.
