William D. Dixon

William D. Dixon, 90, of Newport News passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021.
William served his country proudly for 28 years with the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.
William was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He never met a stranger; anyone he came in contact with instantly became his friend. He enjoyed helping all his friends and neighbors. William had many passions to include his love for Coke-a-Cola and KFC. William was an avid bowler he would travel often to Las Vegas to participate in bowling tournaments. He also loved yard work and had a huge garden in his backyard. He loved to play hearts, horseshoes, and his favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most of all William loved and cherished his wife of 69 years, Ms. Beulah Dixon whom he had known since she was 10 years old, also, he loved and cherished his family.
William is preceded in death by his children William D. Dixon, and David W. Dixon. Grandchildren Crystal Dixon and Charlie Cardaro.
William is survived by his loving wife Beulah Dixon. His children Gary Dixon, Ricky Dixon, Dreama Fitzpatrick, and Jerry Dixon as well as 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 10 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home- Denbigh Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 11 am. Intermit will be at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
