Heather Tugas is a Filipina-American funeral director, born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduating from Granby High School, she began her career as a professional hairstylist and makeup artist in film, TV production, and live events in the Southeast Virginia and Washington D.C. area. She discovered her calling to enter the death care field when she assisted in caring for the beauty needs of decedents, and later served as an apprentice where she received in depth, well-rounded training. Heather cares for each individual and their survivors with compassion, empathy, and delicate support in every step of the process. She is a firm believer in honoring the wishes of the deceased and creating a safe space for families and friends to express their grief.
Heather holds an A.A.S. in Mortuary Science and Funeral Services from Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, and is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Virginia Funeral Directors Association, and is accredited through the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers and the Virginia Board of Cosmetology. In her free time, she’s blessed to spend it practicing yoga, traveling, and creating memories with her loved ones.
