Madeline, as I have always called her, was such a wonderful, loving person. I have fond memories of many a night and day spent in her home when I was a teenager. I cherished her and each member of her family. Our family sends heartfelt condolences to all you. She was a great part of so many lives and such a prayer warrior. She will be greatly missed.

Patricia and I are grateful to have witnessed the resilient power of God as Mother Nana shared her faith with the residences at the former Sentara Nursing Home Village. She would get energy as her faith was used to glorify God and others. She is a precious jewel in your family heritage are is shining brightly in you all her family and the many lives she has touched. You are all in our prayers. Love you all to life in Christ. Remember, while we'll miss her here; she's not lost, she's at home in the presence of Her LORD!

I had cought the video of her sing Love Lifted Me. I can only imagine as she was singing praises to her groom,Hewas dancing over her, and she didn't know it , but He was listening to her, and bening drawn by her aroma as sweet incense into His nostrils. JESUS just reach with His loving arms, and embraced her and took her home. This is the day that she lived for and lined by example .How we should live. So we can be ready when that day come. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’ve never really spoke to Nana, but always saw her present in church even through all her ailments. I saw why a GOD given blessing she was to her family. She proved how the Lord will shine through her disease because she never forgot who he was. The videos shared on fb of her praising and singing to the lord are an inspiration. With sincerest condolences from the Caraco’s ❤️

My condolences go out to the Smith's, Cahoon's, Brockway's, Bailey's, Davidson's, McKenzie's and the Shmidt families. Lessie Madeline Smith has always made an un-erasable impact on my life the very second I was first introduced to her through my brother's marriage to Sandra Kay Smith. I have never met a more godly woman than Lessie Madeline Smith and probably never will, out of respect the only thing that I could ever call her was Miss Smith. I'll always remember the many tears she brought to my eyes by simply saying the word Jesus. It was the purity of her heart that caused my tears to flow because I knew how much she loved Jesus. Her very presence set a very high standard, she never compromised the word of God and raised her children in the way they should go. She truly was one-of-a-kind great ambassador for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will be truly missed. Love, David L. Brockway
