Condolences for Robert “Bobby” Ross Jr

I just found out about Bobby's passing. Both shocked and saddened. I had the privilege of sitting next to Bobby from 1972 through 1974, as we played first trombone at Hampton High. We did Jazz Band, Pep Band, marching, and concert band with our trusty " Conn Director " horns. I remember Bobby loved " Chicago ", Blood, Sweat, and Tears, and all the popular " Horn " bands we would listen to on WGH Radio. So many memories of the band trip to " Disney World ", All-City Band, Regional Band, etc. But, my biggest memory of Bobby, was his faith. I know he is with his Lord and savior, where there is no sickness, every question answered, every tear wiped away. I pray Father God's " Peace that passes all understanding " for the Ross family, friends and loved ones. We will see Bobby again.

Bobby's mom and my mom were sisters. Their family lived in Virginia and we lived in North Carolina. In our younger years, we'd have family gatherings or reunions and he was always a lot of fun. I remember the 4 Ross boys singing gospel quartet music. We haven't seen each other in a long time, but I'm happy that over the past few years, I have been in contact and sent him numerous photos of his parents, grandparents, children, & other family that my folks had taken. He was always appreciative. His family know what a special guy he was. He's no longer dependent on oxygen to breathe freely, and his body has received total healing. Thanks be to God for my cousin, Bobby.
