We well remember the Andrews family from our time in Mechanicsburg in the early 70's. Beautiful family in every way. We had no idea they were living so close to us now in Virginia. We wouldn't have been able to attend the service because of the restrictions on our retirement community due to the virus right now, but so happy to hear that others from our Supply Corps family did attend. Ernie's was a life well-lived, devoted to his family and his God. We are grateful to have known him. Pete and Joan Bondi

To: Jeannie, Todd, Paige, John, and Mackenzie We knew Ernie through Paige, our loving Daughter in Law, and enjoyed visiting with he and the family. He always had a kind word for our family. He along with Jeannie deserve our ever love and blessing and may the Lord be with the family.

Ernie was my "shipmate." We actually didn't serve aboard a ship together, but we were stationed together in Mechanicsburg PA in the early 1980s along with Jim Schweitz who has posted his memories of Ernie. Ernie was my mentor when we both worked on very large computer procurement projects. He was extremely bright but also very humble, and went the extra mile to help me with my project. He also led the way for me when I retired from the navy and became a contractor with NAVMASSO in Chesapeake. He was a friend I could rely on to always give me the "straight skinny." My wife Danna and I also enjoyed our times with Jeannie, Todd and Paige. What a wonderful family! We will greatly miss Ernie, and our hearts go our to his family. With deep sympathy, Rick and Danna Vroman

We are so sorry for your loss! What a life well-lived: a patriot who served his country well, a Christian leader and teacher who made a difference in so many lives, a devoted family man who loved you all so much, and, for me, an old and dear friend, beginning in third grade! We're so thankful we knew him and that he was a part of our lives. We are grateful for his friendship and the laughter through the years. You are in our prayers. With our love.

I had the good fortune to work with Ernie in the Navy, and for him in the DoD contract world. He was the consummate professional who was dedicated to providing the best products and services to our nation’s military as well as creating and sustaining the best work environment for his employees. Our oldest girls had the pleasure of playing soccer and being friends with Todd and Paige when we shared Navy duty in Mechanicsburg, PA. My wife Sue and I enjoyed many social engagements with Ernie and Jeannie, and our entire family thoroughly enjoyed being reunited with them at the Outer Banks each year. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Andrews family, and we share deeply in your loss.

Jeannie, Todd, and Paige… You are in my prayers. I will cherish the time I had with all of you around the dinner table on Friday nights. The cooking was fantastic! I am so grateful for the shepherding Ernie gave me over the years. I love you all.
