Condolences for Rupert LaTast Frazier

My wife Judy and I are saddened to hear of Rupert's death. He was truly a great man. During the early 1960's, YNCS Frazier was the senior enlisted man who reported to me aboard the USS WYANDOT (AKA-92). Can you imagine that with me being an Ensign, who really was in charge??? About 2005 he visited us in Greer, SC as he traveled from Alabama to visit his daughter Jenny and her family. He brought us pecans. Every child should have a grandfather like Rupert -- one of a kind. He will never be forgotten. [email protected]

Rupert was greatly beloved by all the family of LuVerna and James B. Waid, of Gadsden, Alabama. He was a lifetime friend to them. All the children and grandchildren loved him. He was a delightful person.

Uncle Rupert was always kind, considerate, understanding, and positive in his response to everyone in our family. I always looked forward to his presence at family gatherings to hear his humorous stories and watch his interesting films of previous family events and his extensive travels. On many of his travels, our mother Margaret Frazier was in the group and always related Uncle Rupert’s kindness and even tempered actions. He was the model gentleman In all situations. We loved him and will miss him!

Mr. Frazier was my Boss at Guided Missile School Dam Neck, Va. He was a very good man. We all attended his wife's funeral. We thought he had the best handwriting we had seen. He tought me a great deal about Navy procedures and we all admired him. We tried to stay in touch. My symphathy to the family.

Mr. Frazier was so greatly loved by us all! I thank God he is safely Home now. May the love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ continue to strengthen and uphold you, Jenny and Dallas, and all the family as you gather for your final farewell on Saturday. He has already heard the golden bells and is enjoying the eternal bliss of the Saviour. In the love of Christ,
