Condolences for Kathy Hatcher Harris

Mike and the Hatcher/Harris family. I am very sad and sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. While I have not seen or talked to Kathy in quite some time I have many fond memories. We met in high school at Lake Taylor and quickly formed a friendship. I always enjoyed seeing and talking to her as she always made me feel better and lifted my spirits if I was down. Her personality and smile were electric and infected those around her. You could never meet a nicer and more caring person. I know without a doubt that she was a loving and loved mother, wife, grandmother, daughter and sister. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very tough time.

Among the most radiant and brightest lights in my life. Though many years have passed, the warmest, happiest memories of her are still with me. Solace and comfort for her family.

Kathy was the type of person who would do anything for anyone at any time. If you needed her she would be there. You need a ride? no problem, you needed to get something off your chest? She had a listening ear with good advise. You're hungry and don't have any money? She would buy you a meal without hesitation. If you needed/ wanted something, she was there and ready to help. Kathy was many, many great things and she will be deeply missed.

Kathy was a wonderful sister-in-law. I have memories of Kathy's wonderful family gatherings and meals; and memories of how Kathy was always amazingly able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities and make it look so easy. Kathy was always so good to the Harris family . . . I know it was not easy for her with all the illness the Harris family went through. I am thankful to Kathy for taking such great care of my brother and for being such as awesome wife. Kathy will be in my memory and heart forever. I pray for strength, comfort and peace for Mike, Jeremy, Jonathan, Lauren, Mark & Lori, Joyce, Vicky & John, and all other family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. I had the opportunity to work with her as the insurance agent for Pembroke. She was a caring and kind person, that exuded professionalism....and oh so smart. I pray for her family. - Dave Comey

My heart is broken for Mike, Jeremy, Jonathan, Lauren and her siblings. Kathy was a mentor, friend and inspiration when I was growing up. My teenage self would always think, “I want to be like Kathy when I grow up.” And so, I worked hard in high school – earned money babysitting Jeremy and Jonathan when they lived in Great Bridge. I worked at Pembroke alongside Kathy through college. I majored in accounting. Then moved away from Hampton Roads and was always striving to be as professional, kind, and when my son was born, the best working mom ever… like Kathy. She was indeed a special person who will forever live in my family’s hearts. Please accept my condolences and deepest sympathy.
