Condolences for George David Gaskins

I met David in my early teens while living in Linwood Shores in Chesapeake. We played football, baseball or just hung out together along with Ronnie Sullivan, the Anderson boys, and Chuck James. David was a fun guy and good friend. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I grew up across the street from David and his parents, in Chesapeake Va. Many a time he would be over at our home playing games at our kitchen table with my 2 brothers. As most young boys do, they push away any interference from a pesky little girl but not David. He was always so nice to me and in fact was always nice to everyone. Once while he was in Chesapeake General Hospital I visited him and several times we had wonderful long talks about growing up together. Rest in Peace, David.

I met David when I was about 15 years old. We were good friends. I got to know his family when David got drafted and went to Vietnam. I do remember him coming home on the weekends. He was a good friend and person. David may you rest in the arms of our lord and have ever lasting peace.

So sorry to hear of David's passing. I was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground with him in late 68, early 69. We became friends and spent many a weekend together driving back and forth between APG and home. He was a good guy, well liked by his fellow soldiers, and I'm proud to have known him.
