Coburn Family, I went to high school with James. I always remember James smiling and his easy going charm as we charted through Great Bridge High School. I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

James was a wonderful person, the best financial manager we could ever have hoped to have...he always put our interests first and made us feel as though we were privileged clients (although I am sure this is how he made everyone with whom he worked feel). We just received the single page letter from Oppenheimer in today's mail and are still reeling, shocked, by the news of James' passing. We will always remember our many great conversations over the years, about things financial and otherwise. We really felt like we got to know him as not just our financial advisor, but a sincere friend, since our beginnings with him in 2001. Once we get over the shock and grief, we will be able to recall and smile, even laugh, about so many aspects of our relationship with him. To say he will be greatly missed is such a huge understatement; I just don't have words for the huge void he will leave with us. R.I.P., James.

I can’t tell you how shocked I was when I opened the letter from Oppenheimer. I certainly never expected it to contain such sad, sad news. I want to express my sincerest condolences to his family. He has been such an important person in my family’s world. He was always so patient with my parents and with me. I always enjoyed our conversations. We spent much more time talking about our children then we did any financial transactions but I always knew he had our best interests in mind. He took great care of us and his expertise will be terribly missed. But our wonderful conversations about everything under the sun will be more missed. He so obviously loved his wife and children. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers and I am sending your family so much love and tight, tight hugs. He will be so missed.

My wife and I are in total shock since receiving the letter from Oppenheimer telling us of James' passing. He is the only stock broker we have ever had. (I am now 84 yrs old). We have followed him during his entire career as a broker. During our phone calls, we spent more time talking about family than any stock. We remember hearing about him getting married in Rome and the birth of his children. James and his family will always be in our prayers.

It was a privilege to have worked with James several years ago at Morgan Stanley. We all loved his smile, his ever-present sense of humor, and his positive influence on our office. He was a blessing to us and to many - he will be missed. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. God bless you.
