Condolences for Leonard G. Schifrin

Len came into our lives through Karen, my long-time friend. We quickly became friends with Len as well. His wit, intelligence and interest in so many areas made him a welcome companion. We went to a vintage car display room, and he was like a kid in a candy shop. His extensive knowledge of vintage cars surprised us. I appreciated having a friend who lived an academic life, as I had, but from a different perspective. He was open-minded and had a strong sense of social justice. It's hard to believe that Len has passed on. The last few taxing years were hard for Len and Karen. In a way, it's a relief that he's beyond that now. Our love and sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
