Condolences for Carolyn Amy Ficken

From the moment I met Carolyn, she treated me like one of the family. I have so many beautiful memories of her, but her helping me prepare for my wedding is one of my favorites. She made us a beautiful, delicious wedding cake, many layers tall. She didn’t have to do that - but she wanted to as her gift to us. It breaks my heart to think of her no longer gracing this Earth, but I know that Heaven has gained an Angel. Much love and condolences to you all.

She helped me make my homecoming dress when I went to Mt. Carmel High School, and my date was Mark Plugar. Blue skirt and tank top double layered with a sheer flowery material made with so much skill and care, that, I will always remember sharing time with her. Also, she was making porcelain dolls then. My memory is that she wouldn't make the dress for me, but she helped me make it for myself. She was a wonderful teacher, and I looked up to her. Now, I'm a teacher and I understand how important it is to do things together for learning to happen. Thanks for sharing your mom with me. Dale and Sherry I love you.

I was so fortunate to work funeral services with Carolyn. When I had my knee replacement on 2009, she drove me each time for PT and then to lunch. I will miss seeing and talking to her. Rest in peace my dear friend of 20 years.

How saddened I was to see Carolyn had passed away. She was always so happy, bubbly and full of life in her days at Ascension. She was truly an assist to our parish. Hated to see her leave, but know it was a decision she had to make. Blessings and peace be with Carolyn’s family. May wonderful memories sustain you…she is at peace and celebrating!!
